Despite some mistakes and breakdowns and in spite of some injuries the 2007 Tigers have played to a 10 and 2 record and are now in position to win the SEC Championship (something 10 other SEC teams coached by the likes of Spurrier, Saban, Myer, Richt, Tubberville are only dreaming about). Sadly, this achievement does not seem to impress or excite many of the team’s fans – at least on TF. Before the season started many on this board were predicting a 1 or 2 loss season and that is exactly where we are. For those of you who continue to harp on the fact that we are now out of the race for the NC, I must say you are starting to sound a lot like those Bama fans who continually whine and moan about the glory days and what was. I think these are the glory days for LSU Football. As I posted in another thread - look at the record for the last 8 seasons: 2000 through 2007 (pre SECCG & Bowl): 80 wins for an average of 10 wins a year. 4 SEC West Titles (this is the 16 SEC Title Game and we have played in ¼ of them). 2 SEC Titles & 1 NC 8 straight bowl games These are our glory days, we better embrace them and enjoy them now, they don’t last for ever and we will be sorry if we let them pass us by. Please forgive the tone, I guess you tend to lecture more than you mean to when you get old and have to watch what you eat during lunch. Great post.. It's wonderful in a way that our fans get really mad when they have "another 2 loss season". I remember literally praying for a 7 or 8 win season.. and not getting it... It's a wonderful day to be an LSU fan.
I have had the chance to talk with some die hard Miami and Nebraska fans in the last few months. Both made the point of telling me to enjoy this run of LSU football because they felt they did not really appreciate their success when they had it. Of course, I quickly told them not to tell me what to do or think.
