What is it about night games in Death Valley that gives LSU so much more of an advantage? Is the crowd noise that much greater? Do the players hang out at Shady's too late the night before games? What is it?
Go to a day game, and then go to a night game, you will never ask that questions again
Go to a day game, and then go to a night game, you will never ask that questions again
That I will do. As I have been to many Penn State games, I can only talk from the experiences of going to day and night games in Happy Valley. Now, i'm not even going to try to compare the Big Ten experience vs. the SEC. Penn State plays a majority of their games at Noon EST, so we are use to it. Night games are always more electric, partly because the tailgates are longer, and the fanbase is drunker. But mostly, PSU's night games are better because, for them to be selected to play at 8pm, the Lions have to be really good, and they have to be playing a meaningful game against another ranked team. That doesn't happen that often up here, so any time the Nits play at night, it is a huge deal. Day or night, i'd be fu**in' fired up to watch LSU play Florida in Death Valley. Sit thru a couple of noon games against Indiana or Northwestern, in the freezing cold, and you'd be begging for a 2:30 kickoff in the bayou.
I think it gets ugly. I know this kid is talented but this is quite a tall order for a first start. I would be surprised if he finishes the game. He will be hit early and often. I think chavis blitzes his brains out
You'll probably have to pick a game that most likely won't be subject to tv scheduling intervention. ie. for next year Idaho or Towson to *guarantee* it won't be a day game. Who knows next years Alabama game may well be an ESPN Game Day 8pm et game. I'll frankly be surprised if this Nov. 5th isn't a GD game... it's just unfortunate that it's played in Tuscaloosa this year =\
Agreed. But i'd want to see an SEC matchup. Heck, I can drive 5 miles to see Lehigh beat the crap out of Towson.
