If this game were played last weekend in BR while offering to play in Gainesville next year, with a hurricane in the bull pen, I think all would have accepted. Instead the SEC took a week to come to this conclusion, costing both teams a game. Hope the conference learned something from this debacle. If so, so be it.
What did you expect Alleva to do? The game had to be played, the SEC was not going to take no for an answer. No way should we have agreed to play in Gainesville on Nov 19th. That's what Foley wanted when he stonewalled last week. Alleva got the game move to Tiger Stadium so LSU doesn't have to play three SEC road games in 12 days. You guys love to dump on Alleva but I haven't heard any other viable options? Most of the "solutions" LSU fans have been throwing out there are about as likely as getting Jon Gruden as coach. Be realistic. Alleva stuck to his guns about a home game Nov 19th. Yeah, we have to pay a home game back to Florida in '17. It is what it is but you can't say Foley got what he wanted, either.
All it proves is my original point which is that McElwain won't play "anyone, anywhere, any time" when he knows both of his lines, secondary, and QB are banged up. He got what he wanted alright, time to get his team healthy. Meanwhile we play a brutal 5 game schedule in 6 weeks.
Def a bad deal for LSU giving up next years home game. What was the point of it all anyways if it was such a big deal to play the home game just to give it up next year. Stupid. The only acceptable thing IMO would have been to play the game in Baton Rouge nov 19 and that's all. No changes to future schedules just play it here and resume regular rotation next year. They refused all offers to play the game last weekend so it should be totally on them to accommodate lsu. But oh well to late now just go win.
No, that would have been a rip off too. Last year South Carolina was told having LSU come to play at your place the next time would create an unbalanced schedule. Well, looks like they gave Florida what the told South Carolina they couldn't have a year ago. Foley got his injured team out of a game and scored a huge win for his university for next year. LSU should have played that game on Sunday night in Florida. North Carolina was devastated by flooding and NC State played that game in the hurricane like men, Florida backed out like some bitches, got their guys some rest, and scored another home game next year.
