We don't lose a home game this year and we have a year to absorb the effect on next season. Foley looks like a bitch on his way out and Stankey nutted up. Also, like it or not, LSU still has a shot at the whole ball of wax.
I guess I'm OK with, but what Foley said is not cool at all. I don't think it was unreasonable at all for Alleva to stand up for the team and say we are not playing 3 road games in 12 days, plus we are not giving up a home game. LSU shouldn't have to accomadate and make concessions to UF because of the storm. It has happened to us and we dealt with and made concessions to other teams because it was OUR home getting affected.
Alleva got schooled on press releases by Foley. Alleva needs to lay this out in his press release. Layout the concessions LSU was willing to do on moving the game to the Sunday or Monday, just like another SEC school. They were also willing to let them move it to LSU on the scheduled date, just like other schools have done, including LSU. Then lay it out the UF wanted the Nov 19 date in G-ville and dug their heels in. LSU would be the one making all the concessions in that scenario and it was not doable or feasible for LSU.
The only plus in this ordeal I see is we get the opportunity to straight skull fuck a healthy Florida team.
Alleva's statement: “We are happy with the decision to have our game against Florida rescheduled for November 19 in Tiger Stadium. As previously reported, it was our wish to have played the game last weekend but all options that we put on the table were declined. After extensive discussion, the University of Florida agreed to play the 2016 contest in Baton Rouge and LSU agreed to play the 2017 game in Gainesville. “I want to thank the Southeastern Conference, in particular Commissioner Greg Sankey, for his efforts to make sure that we found a place on the schedule to play the game. This is a game that our players and fans look forward to each year and we are appreciative of the lengths that our league office went to in order to make this game happen. “Historically, we have always enjoyed a great relationship with Florida. We have great respect for their institution and their football program. I hope that we can all learn from this experience and as a league, be in a better position to deal with these situations in the future.”
We shoulda went there for the game. Lose any one of the next 3 after this weekend and this is retarded.
