White says he always beats his coaches to the football operations building on Sundays to review film as early as he can. That day, as he was getting ready to leave, he saw Orgeron’s door cracked open. So, a day after an 11-tackle performance, he stopped in with some surprising words for his coach. “I walked in and I talked about what was going on,” White said. “I told him our team is way better than this, and I know we can be way better. One of the passing routes I wish we would run is the short read pass from the shot gun. Many teams do this successfully by faking the hand-off and pulling back and hitting a quick slant. It develops way faster than the play action and freezes the linebackers just enough to hit that 5-8 yard pass. With our O-line issues it would work beautifully. With all the miss direction and jet sweep we run I know the D will bite on that fake. It would be an easy catch and run or at least positive yardage if coverage is tight. Auburn and Ole Miss do it all the way down the field and it works great.
