I believe the crowd in Tiger Stadium can really help this team. Get loud and raucous and no booing please, except at the officials.
YES!!! When the Gamecocks come out don't boo them yell Tiger Bait, TIGER BAIT, TIGER BAIT, TIGER BAIT until they are shaking in their boots Geaux Tigers
And .. .YET ... both drives were ended by bone head mistakes. Boone dropped a crucial pass that hit him in the hands on the first drive of 30 yrds ... and ODB fumbled on the 59 yrd drive. Plays right into what I'm saying. This kind of crap gets into people's heads. The D probably began to feel the same way some of us felt .... as in ... "what's gonna happen this time ... a dropped pass, a fumble, a sack, or 3 plays in a row and we punt". Ya got to admit, that's pretty discouraging. JUST LOOK AT ALL THESE THREADS .. filled with frustration .. so I KNOW it wasn't just me. We've got "let's fire CLM" .. "let's fire Studs" ... "let's fire the WR coach" ... "let's put in a running QB" ... "let's pass more" .. no "let's run more". To think that the D is not feeling the same frustration that we are is unreasonable, IMO. As several have said .. this is mental. It's getting in the O's heads, and I think as time goes on, it's getting in the D's head, because the D can only do so much .. they can hold and hold and hold ..but the O has to step up and put some points on the board.
I think it'll matter as well of how we win. IF we go out and play some good sound football, limit the dropped passes, limit the fumbles, limit the sacks, limit the penalties .... this team can come away feeling good about itself. And that will make a huge difference going forward.
I was about to say if we play well yet lose it could go either way. But they have to at least step up this weekend or there's a good chance we tank the rest of the way. That often happens to a team with nc hype whos suddenly already out of it. This will test les' ability to keep his team either way. Lots to fix on the bland side of the ball.
This whole season will be a test of CLM's ability to develop some good leadership in his team. It's like one of the other post noted ... when a young guy makes a mistake, don't shake your head in disgust, but rather, motivate him, help him to play at the level you know he's capable of. Really .. there's no shame in losing when you play good sound fundamentals. It's terrible when you beat yourself, ... like we did this past weekend.
