may be true up in the cute lil freshwater creeks you play in, but brothas ain't scared of boats and swimming down here.
Well that would be false. See, it's a known fact that 70% of black youth CAN'T swim. In fact Louisiana itself is used in this article published on that very topic. What studies find is that children who can't swim most often have parents who can't swim. Further, parents who don't know how to swim are very likely to pass on not knowing how to swim to their children. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...siana-drowning-why-many-blacks-cant-swim.html On the black registered boat-owners, I don't know that it would be possible to pull that information on a race query. I'll let the members here draw on their own experiences as to how many bruthas you see in at a boat launch in a year's time. We understand you've been back down in the Minors for a while but if we're going to pull you up here to the big leagues so you can play with us big boys, you'll have to bring you A game or we'll have to send you back down to the minor league. Calling the Mississippi River a creek/ Really? We definitely need to sharpen your skills. You probably don't even remember the weight of an unloaded service weapon. But hey, here's to still owning your ass. *raises glass*
ok, you got me on the swimming part. really didn't know it was that lopsided. but down in my neck of the swamp errybody gots boats. black, whites, Indians.
This is true although it has more to do with socioeconomic reasons and lack of access to pools. Swimming pools in affluent communities are common. Public pools have a history of racism. Cullen Jones was the first to change things. There were black swimmers in these Olympics with Gold Medal success and the women's US water polo goalie is black...the first ever there. It's only a matter of time. They will start to replace white swimmers. Get ready for it.
Damn! That's gonna leave us with only golf and tennis. Oh, wait a minute. Are there any great black bowlers?
So Tiger and Serena....hmmmm. I don't know about bowling but I bet they could hit the hell outta a badminton birdie.
Huh? I didn't say anything about it being due to lack of access. I did read, however, that it was MUCH to do about fear. Seriously.
maybe it's just different here because we ain't got as many brothas and we surrounded by water. but here they go to the pool, swim in the bayou, etc.
