The only thing I believe has been decided is that there will be a change in our coaching staff. While I think Chavis is the early favorite and there has been contact, I doubt an agreement has been reached.
Is it really five coaches, or is yours a well...very-well...informed guess? I had a similar situation happen at my last job; my position was eliminated, though I was given several months warning and was able to look for something else...to help avoid it looking bad on my resume. And, please, let this be true for certain coaches currently employed by LSU. Edited to add: I see that you're not a source. Still, you have more knowledge about the program and how things work, and I hope you're correct.
All I have is a feeling based on other sources. I think it is at least 3 coaches (Co-DC's and DL), but it could easily be 5 (OL & Special Teams).
:geaux::crystal::helmet: Thanks for the feedback. Just hope this is all done soon. It's better for the team, the staff, and definitely better regarding the recruiting class. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231: i
Could be due to the inevitable changes Miles is out on the recruit trail, letting them know a little something and trying to keep them from changing their committments.
Depends on whether you believe ESPN's Jim Donnan or not. former Georgia coach Jim Donnan reported on an Atlanta sports radio talk show Monday that Chavis and LSU have an agreement in place. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/35356224.html Before becoming a college football analyst for ESPN, Donnan had a respectable career as a college football coach, including as OC for Barry Switzer's Oklahoma (33-3 record as OC, one National Championship), head coach of Marshall (64-21 record, two-time Division I-AA Coach of the Year), and head coach of Georgia (40-19 record).
It's a period where coaches can make in house visits so Miles is out recruiting. However I doubt that we would lose any recruits because of Peveto or Mallory. In fact they may be more inclined to come since changes are being made(we hope). I think the dreadful collapse at the end of the season would have a bigger negative impact on recruits than anything else.
I'm aware of that, but he's in areas where we have current commits... thought maybe he taking some of this time to ease their worries.
