Re: First time in Tiger Statium Saturday Night? actually, TV is the reason it had always been moved to Friday. took CBS a while, but they finally realized that moving a game to a Friday, and creating an ugly trophy does not automatically create a rivalry.
Re: First time in Tiger Statium Saturday Night? I must admit, I never paid any attention to the actual date and just assumed the game was on Friday, like usual. Thanks for the heads up though.
Re: First time in Tiger Statium Saturday Night? -Walk-ons, Chimes are two of several good retaurants in the area -Purple and gold will be fine for dress -Soak it up and enjoy. Win or lose, it's its own special atmosphere:geaux:
Re: First time in Tiger Statium Saturday Night? I hear it is very special and will be despite the latest. Thanks for the quick replies and more are welcome....:geauxtige
Re: First time in Tiger Statium Saturday Night? If you go to the Pastime Restaurant and Bar underneath the I-10 bridge on Nicholson extension, you will get 3 things: 1) a place to park (for $12 a seat, they have air conditioned shuttle buses that will deposit you in front of the Tiger Cage before the game and pick you up after the game) The traffic will not be heavy because so many fans are dismayed over the 3 losses but it is still a convience to not have to worry about driving. 2) You will get to experience a resturant that has been a part of LSU tradition since the 1940s 3) You will have a choice of great poboys or awesome pizzas. (some are unusual with toppings such as crawfish tails, shrimp, or tasso) There are plenty of TVs to watch all the games and even more pictures of past LSU games and teams. They also sell purple, gold, and white camoflauge pants and shirts, if you are into that. I would arrive somewhere around 3:30. You will miss most of the traffic. You will be able to find a place underneath the bridge to park for free. You will have time to eat at your leisure and arrive at the stadium early enough to walk around and view the tailgaters, see Mike the Tiger, shop for souviners, and watch the team and the band walk down Victory Hill. If you like to gamble, next to the Pastime is the Belle casino, another option. You are also downtown within walking distance to the USS Kidd the Planetarium, and the Old State Capital, if you want to arrive real early. The Tsunami Restaurant at the top of the Shaw Center offers a spectacular view of the river. Good luck and enjoy the game!
Re: First time in Tiger Statium Saturday Night? dont just park and go to game. if you have the time and energy show up earlier and tailgate for a bit, would be glad to host you, team katt would as well i'm sure. pm me if you want.
Re: First time in Tiger Statium Saturday Night? Do you guys really think Walk-Ons is that great? I've always though the food is average and the service is just bad... but you can't beat the location. The Chimes is great on all points, though. I am bringing my wife (a Longhorn grad) to her first LSU game this weekend. I'm planning on getting there early and walking around to show her how real fans tailgate. Also, Pastime is on Nicholson, not Nicholson Ext. CEBA is on Nicholson Ext.
