Competition is cyclical. Arkansas and A&M are no joke. Both are capable of beating LSU. Maybe not this year, but this year is pretty special. Mizzou is better than SEC people give them credit for. Miss State and Ole Miss are having bad cycles. I would say that this year, that lineup actually favors the SEC West as the stringer division...
I have afriend from St Louis and he tells me that people in Missouri don't care about Mizzou football....even the alumni are apathetic about it in that they don't really talk about it much. He also tells me that Missouri football suck. I'd much rather see the SEC add WVU because it's in the east and geography matters as much as schools that have different sports teams in different conferences suck.
The problem with WVU is that their fan base and TV market doesn't bring in much cash and their academics don't fit the standard that the SEC is trying to set. Basically they have nothing to offer to improve the SEC in any way.
:geaux: Another good read on all this. I hadn't heard anything before involving Notre Dame to the Big 12. That would be weird. If they (ND) never went to the Big 10, I don't see them joining the sinking ship Big 12. All in all interesting read though. It doesn't work because of that... Just try posting a link without ANY protocol prefix - start with the "www".
