Saban has stayed consistent on offense. This offensive game scheme works only with a good defense. Saban is a defensive minded coach. What LSU has done offensively has nothing to do with Saban but with what we had going for us on offense. You manage the clock by running the football and wearing teams down only to catch them on a big play downfield when they are least expecting it. The reason why this has worked for us is because we have a lot of depth at the running back position and we continue to have a forceful defense. You can say all you want about Saban effect on teams running a pro style system but I think as a head coach you work toward your strengths and ours is the running game. Something tells me that Nick Sabans defense is going to be on the field a lot more this year than they were last year mainly because their in ability to move the chains on a consistant basis. That's exactly what happend to them in 2010. You can't keep giving the opposing team great field position and not expect them to score.
Something tells me when the San Francisco 49ers get through reintroducing the NFL to the power run game and awesome defense, more of the Green Bays and Detroits and other pass happy teams in a pass happy, spread em out league, will be trying to look more like the truck that keeps running over them. No information yet on whether Harbaugh knows and follows Alabama football. I'm guessing yes.
You are soooo full of CHIT! Harbaugh is a Michigan old hat Big 10 disciple of power football. Saban has invented NOTHING!! Get it out of your twisted Gump mind. He did the same at LSU and guess what he didn't invent it there. Les does the same here. Your sainted Bear, Shug Jordan, Charly Mac in the SEC; Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler in the Big 10 and Darryl Royal in the SWC among others ALL had the same philosophy. It is basic power football that has been the staple of championship football since it began. Get your over inflated Gump ego in check
