Just a few things positive and things to work on.

    Positive

Great blocking. Liked the way our line performed.

Charles Scott and Murphy and Ridley looked good running.

Receivers caught the ball well and good after the catch yardage.

Defense looked good and strong against the run.

    No major injuries.

Patrick Peterson is gonna be on the field somewhere.

    Dline strong.

    Certain special teams looked good.

A few things to improve on

    Punting consistency and kickoff depth

Poise by qb's in their reads throwing the ball. Lee watching his receiver all the way.

Would like to have seen Keiland run a little harder. Looks like running not to fumble instead of running hard.

A few broken coverages on Blitzes.

I am glad App. St. receivers dropped some of those balls. But i think the dbacks were laying the wood to them and they were looking to see where they were.

On the whole very pleased with a first game under these conditions and it is good we can have a few games like this to get QB's more experience before SEC Play.

Coleman. Jones. Beckwith. Now Peterson (at least, soon to be...).

    A wrecking crew.

I think App State is gonna have a tough flight in those economy seats on the way back to Boone. Those boys were taking some hits.

Think the QB situation will work out with some experience. Worried a little though the blocking was so good there wasn't much pressure.

Awesome line play on both sides. Front seven on the "D" was magnificent.

Punting needs some work. Overall very pleased with the Tiger's performance.

For my Mountaineers, A heck of a lot more questions remain. They never got it going. Has to be at least in part because of the play of the Tigers. Almost flawless at least in the first half.

We are an FCS team but LSU made a very good football team look bad today.

It is said that a team improves the most between the 1st and 2nd game. So next week will be interesting. The quarterbacks will get better, but today they did not make any huge mistakes and managed the game pretty well. That was about all that could be asked of them. I hope Miles is right when he says Dalfry will improve. Finally, Williams needs to run with more authority. All-in-all, not a bad day.

The game went how I expected it would pretty much..

    Notes:
QB - Lee will eventually be the man, but until he gets some more game experience Hatch is the safe choice. There's some improving to be done in that area..

Punting/Kicking - What can I say about it that hasn't been said.. It's less than spectacular, but I feel it will get a little better.

O-line - Awesome, as expected. Hard to tell though since we outweighed them by an average of 60 lbs on that front.

    D-line - Scary.

LB/Safety/CB - All looked pretty good.. I was impressed with Peterson and look forward to his career here. Coleman's a monster, Sheppard looked good too.

Overall, I think it was a good outing. Of the 13 points App St. scored, 7 came off a blown coverage in one play and 3 came from a converted int... The defense is a staunch as ever and will continue doing what we all like so much. Offense has a few quirks to work out at QB but by the time we go to Auburn we should be a little better off.

Also, hats off to all of you that braved the heat out there today. The stadium was as hot as I can remember it being. Can't wait for next week.

What really stuck out to me was the tackling. I know it was against a lesser team but we didn't miss many and most were very hard hits. The LBs played one of hell of a game other than DB's blown coverage.

I don't think a lot of people realize how solid a team App. State is.

App. State surely didn't play well, but a lot of that was because of LSU.

We'll see. They lost a lot of talent last year. I'll be intersted to see how the rest of their schedule goes.

we definitely have more questions than we got answers for yesterday..
Gotta love the line play on both side for the Tigers.
Front seven on defense is magnificent.
