Wow....not even a week has passed since signing day, yet Miles and Co. have picked up their first "verbal" for 2007. Gabriel Bryant from Jonesboro-Hodge gave Miles his verbal today. Bryant is a 6-foot-2, 190 lbs ATH (though he appears to be slated as a WR in college).... Interesting to see how long this recruit keeps his "verbal commitment" before decommitting, etc. Who knows? Maybe he'll be the first recruit in recent history to ACTUALLY hold on to his verbal the entire time???
Here is a little info on him: Bryant is the wild card in the group. After playing quarterback for Jonesboro-Hodge as a sophomore, he transferred to Bastrop last year but never played a down there before moving again to Arkansas where he played the entire season. Now back with the Tigers, Bryant is getting heavy interest from LSU. http://www.thenewsstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060206/SPORTS/602060336/1006
Glad to see that we've started so soon! I wonder what the coaches saw from him that made them offer so soon with him being considered a "wild card".
if this is the same kid im thinking of, he runs track for them and is a star hoops player as well. ran the 4x400, 4x200 or something and other sprint events. so i guess hes a track star with superior athletic skills to go along with it. if its the same kid. oddly enough, I dont remember if hes any good at football. maybe i should read the article.

Hmmm. Sounds like he has a lot of potential. Good stats, especially considering he supposedly was getting double & triple covered. Hopefully his showboating won't be too big a problem in college.
And despite that kind of coverage he still was able to catch 8 TDs for over 1,000 yards. Impressive. I am real courious to see how Rivals fianally ranks him.
Committing early and sticking to it is bad for your ranking. Part of the ranking is based on school interest, and if a kid is rock solid to a school other schools lose interest.
