Desmond Howard just discussed how the carnage in the SEC West could yield a 2 loss division champ and thus a 2 loss SEC Champ, and firmly believes that team will be in the playoffs. And he would be 100 percent correct.
How about this? What if Mississippi State runs the table (highly unlikely) and wins the SEC, publicly demolishing, say, UGA, in the SECCG. Then, LSU runs the table and is considered "the" hot team at the end of the season. Could we, should we, be a two-loss SEC West non-conference champion easing into the field of four?
Of course any two loss SEC West should be considered as a viable option for a second SEC team in the playoffs but I can't see LSU being one of them even if they run the table. Maybe if the Auburn game had been a lot closer.
Maybe, but the media has a fairly short memory. Less than a month after we beat Alabama on their home field, we had to win the SECCG for the privilege of playing them in the NCG.
That again? I'll forgive you since you're a woman but if I hear any more male Tiger Fans whining about that again I'm going to force feed them a dozen corndogs each.
LSU demolished Auburn last year and Auburn ended up winning the division and the SEC. This is a completely different team that played in Auburn. Kansas State would have to lose a few though I think.
Was 35-21 and Auburn looked respectable in the second half. Plus that was Auburn's only regular season loss. The same standards won't apply
