Crowton won an NC with an experienced QB developed by Jimbo. Outside of Tim Rattay at La Tech years ago, he's been a failure at developing QBs at every other stop in his college career, trying to run a gimmicky proto-spread that, like Cam, required a highly-experienced QB to execute. In a disturbing parallel to Crowton, Cam apparently runs a pro-style with a dash of read-option that similarly requires an experienced QB to execute properly, and also similarly appears incapable of coaching up QBs. And through it all we have either whiffed or failed to recruit talent to fit those schemes, or failed to adapt schemes to the players that do make it to campus. There's only one person in common with his hand on the steering wheel.

And then we never got another talented QB while he was there. Like I said, Perrilloux was next in line. We didn't have any great QBs sign up to be his backup. That would have been the case regardless of the OC or HC.

And yet the offense was still pretty good most of the games in 2011. I could give stats, but I was told those are meaningless.

You got me there. This isn't the first place I ever read fans' comments though.

So Les has simply been the most unlucky, most snakebit HC in college football when it comes to QBs and OCs for 7 of the last 8 seasons? Sorry, nobody is buying that anymore.

Crowton was a good OC without a good QB after 2007. Studrawa was never supposed to be the OC in the first place, but we still got good QB play. I'm not defending Cam.

    I don't know what you're not buying.

Care to run that by me again?

By the way, Crowton went to Maryland after he quit/got canned/whatever. He barely made it through one season. In that time he managed to take the ACC rookie of the year at QB as a freshman and ran him into the ground.

You've lost all credibility with that statement.
