Firing Miles would be both dumb and unprecedented

As I say, maybe if Fournette stays healthy this year and all next year and then we're 8-5 next year, maybe I'll be on board then, but I really believe we can have one of our best teams next year.

The 7-0 start just got people thinking it was time when it wasn't.

Why would 8-5 next year change anything? As you say, his overall percentage would still be excellent. You need some butt paste because youre being far too rash. The LSU fan base is delusional, petty, worst-in-the-nation, with unrealistic goals. Miles is better than Richt and that's all anyone really need to know.

I like how the article completely glosses over Zook's record before Florida made their best hire since Spurrier.

Frankly, I think it would be a mistake to fire Les without having a sure-bet, top-tier coach 100% locked up. He's earned a chance at the 2016 season. But what I won't do is pretend that the same fundamental issues we've seen for years will go away. The chronic underachievement, the sloppy and undisciplined play, and the idiotic refusal to adapt his offensive style to the strengths of his players and to outscheme opponents will still be there.

I'm an outsider but I honestly think LSU could do a LOT better...and you, the fans deserves better too. You guys haul in top 1-3 recruiting classes on a yearly basis and that's the offensive scheme that utilizes ALL that talent??? Wow. The truth is that the "3 yards and a pile of dust" isn't good enough to win out anymore. Offenses are just too good now no matter how good your D is. Even with a ferocios defense, you have to be able to safely put up at least 35 points a game or you're gonna get beat at least once or twice. Fournette's great, but when you line up against stout D-lines like Bama and have no answers in the passing game, you're not going to put enough points up to win anymore. Saban adjusted and that's why his offense is becoming more diverse...because you HAVE to score more to win out now. The game has changed and Les hasn't adjusted. If a "decent" offensive coach had your talent level, they'd be averaging 45-50 points EASY. The QB's are being coached "not to lose".....but when they're forced to win the game, they can't do it and that's not just this season.

Also, I'm going to give you this little tidbit of personal info about Les miles and you can believe me or not. I'm fine either way but what I'm about to say is 100% the truth. I met Les here in Oklahoma (away from the lights and cameras) and he REALLY IS an arrogant a$$hole and a TURD of a person! Yes I dislike him period because my team is OU...but that has ZERO to do with it. I was a valet/bellman at a big OKC hotel in my teenage yrs, back when he was OSU's coach and he stayed at our hotel for a weekend. He was a pompous jerk to everybody that interacted with him, including the front desk staff that obviously doesn't work for tips (and we didn't bring up sports or what he does because we could get fired for doing so...just "everyday small talk" that hotel workers are supposed to say to guests when staying at a very nice hotel...general hospitality). He was "in and out" CONSTANTLY with his vehicle and he literally STIFFED all the valets and bellman the ENTIRE weekend. We had to run 4 blocks every time to get his car too and walk 4 blocks back when parking it and he KNEW it. It was POURING rain a few of the times too. Stiffed the bellman lugging his and his entire families stuff up and down the hotel as well. It's only magnified when you're a complete jerk about it to everybody! Even when nice people stiff you, they at least overly thank you 3-5 times before getting inside the vehicle because they feel bad. True story. And even though I obviously despise osu, when Mike Gundy stayed, he was VERY nice to the entire staff (we all talked to each other about important guests in the house) and he took proper care of everybody giving him service as well. Really came off as a good dude behind the scenes even though he's still the enemy in my personal life. Well that's my rant...gone for good. Good luck with that!

We had one of our best teams in 2013 and lost three conference games.

Ok, so the article exhausted me after the first 700 lines, so I didn't read the whole thing. I'll just trust the arguments were well supported.

I'm not eager for Miles to be shoved out of the door. I like the guy. He's a good man with some endearing and entertaining character traits. He's fun. But for me it's the aggregation of blunders coupled with the trends. Knowing how much of a challenge it can be for him to change I've lost confidence that it will be fixed. I'd like to see a wide open, aggressive, Mad Hatter type of game that we know his teams can deliver. If he can really coach like there's no tomorrow the Tigers should get on a run and win out. If there's a lack of urgency and they don't leave it all on the field, then it's time.

That's what it comes down to for me.

I don't see a problem with 8-5 either. I mean we could be South Dakota State who just hopes for 1 win a season. Do we want to be South Dakota State, people? Get a grip.

Got to separate your heart from your head. Your heart is telling you he's a good man, great recruiter, man of integrity. All things that are true. Your head is telling you he is a buffoon and stubborn and you have no confidence in his leadership, especially game planning and ultimately on game day. Go with your head.

I keep reading some folks (not just here) referring to this recent Miles fiasco with Alabama and Arkansas as turning back into LSU 90s football. I say to them, you are wrong, and obviously didn't watch the product on the field back then. I'm not the biggest Miles fan, but he does give this team a fighting chance each year. I'm not debating whether LSU needs new blood as HC, but until LSU is 2-9, 5-6 each year, this is not LSU 90s football. I am concerned with the lack of preparation and just rolling over for Alabama and Arkansas.

I see LSU playing a damn good game today, and beating Ole Miss.....my favorite rivalry as long as I can remember.
