As much as I hate pete carrol and usc, they would be fools to even consider for a second booting him. He does keep them stocked with talent, it's not his fault they play in the puss 10 and that the talking heads keep slobbering on his crotch.

Seriously, this guy talks like USC is the only team in the country with talent and that a retarded chimp would be able to win championships every year. Petey is the only reason USC is referred to as the "men of troy". Without him, they're just another directional school.

I think the program being in the Hollywood city has a significant help with their recruiting, in addition to the media's lovefest. However, the lovefest is also a poison pill for the program, as the players may have the mindset that their "greatnest" is supposed to carry them through all the wins. A team with drive and motivation can always potentially beat a team with prima donna talent where the coach is ineffective in properly channelling the talent.
I agree, however remember the 10 years before caroll. USC wasn't even on the map anymore and had faded from all championship talk. I hate caroll and usc!!!! There is no doubt they play in a very very weak conference an get a weekly media suckfest due to the size of the media market. Yes Hollywood and Southern California does attract recruits, but caroll has done a pretty good job building a program even if he isn't a great x and o's coach who gets a free ride in the puss 10. JMO
