I'd imagine it was both Alleva and several big money boosters wanted Miles out. They just didn't plan things out and it backfired on them because they were too stupid to have other options. Once things went public you now basically have to fire Miles, so you need other options in case. They didn't have it, Miles because a sympathetic figure and here we are today.
I have heard many times that they don't exchange Christmas cards. The way Chavis's contract was handled was supposedly to spite Miles.
Right, and instead of Miles negotiating a buy out so he didn't have to watch the program he supposedly loves get torn apart and dragged through the mud, he let it go on hanging on by a thread. Lucky for him he came out smelling like a rose but the football program is at a dangerous crossroads.
The program is doomed to mediocrity. The shot callers have proven they do not intend to spend the necessary money to win championships.
