If Alleva leaked the firing of miles and hiring of Jimbo, then he's to blame. If a booster who was told to keep quiet did that, then it's not Alleva's fault. Whoever made the decision to leak the news is to blame for the entire fiasco. Had that not happened, Jimbo would be our coach right now.
True, but I think after the feces hit the fan he should have called a press conference and said that any decision on Miles future will not be made until after the end of the season and that anything else is just rumor or speculation. At least try and diffuse the situation. But, I agree the bastard(s) that leaked the story in the first place should be strung up by their private parts.
You can't really call a press conference to say nothing. When he was asked, he said there would be no comment til after the season. Calling a presser would just draw more attention to the story.
I guess it's safe to say our Head Football coach has more friends than our AD. This whole thing was quite comical and embarrassing. The decision-makers should have kept it quiet and done exactly what Georgia did. Miles deserved a lot more respect than he was given over the last 2 weeks.
All the radio guys say the leak was from within the AD. I don't care for Derek Ponamsky on the radio, but he is well connected.
Miles still had a lot of support from the right boosters. Aleeva wanted him gone. The intent of the leak was to rally some of the TAF boosters on the fence to pony up more money to go after Jimbo.
Instead, he made himself look like an idiot. Really, you need everyone's support if you're spending 20 million. So does Alleva really want to get rid of miles or was he just trying to appease a faction of boosters?
