This is who we beat prior to losing to Bama: MSST (4-4 SEC), AU (2-6 SEC), Syracuse (4-8), E Michigan (1-11), S Carolina (1-7 SEC), #25FU, #24WKU MSST - W21-19, game ended after an 82-yard MooU drive stalled w 4:00 left in game AU - W45-21, solid win against a bad AU Syracuse - W34-24, 24-17 with 12:00 left in 4th quarter E Michigan - W44-22, 30-22 end of the 3rd S Carolina - W45-24, solid win against a bad S Carolina FU - W35-28, tied at end of 3rd, but a win against a ranked opponent WKU - W48-20, solid win against a ranked opponent I wouldn't consider this quite good; we were ranked highly based on what we'd done in the past.
Alleva is STILL here. I guess Miles should be too. Join us in the real world when you're ready. Like it or not, there was a logical argument for Orgeron. I'd hope a reasonable person at AD would've seen through the smoke and mirrors; regardless that decision is proven to be a failure and Alleva needs to be fired.
Good Lord. Your hatred of Miles clouds your ability to understand his point. Alleva is the cancer for the football program. Period. Until that is fixed, we are screwed.
It looks great in comparison already. And no Oeaux didn't deserve a sniff for a high school team bc his resume' isn't worth the paper it's printed on. He's unqualified to be hired by any fbs school as HC. Much less a top 12 school.
And don't forget that the South Carolina game was hastily moved to Baton Rouge in the aftermath of the floods in their state. Was Spurriers last game.
Miles’ absolute worst season of his career was better than O’s absolute best. if O is the best Alleva can land, then yeah Miles needed to outlast Alleva. i stand by that. with Miles we weren’t good enough. with O we absolutely fucking suck! “not good enough” is better than “absolutely fucking suck” “he talk like us” and “he from here” and “he said he changed” is not a logical argument. and i have yet to see anyone but forth a logical reason based on actual football and resumé that’s says he was in any way qualified for this job. let alone such a great get that we neglected to even interview anyone else and gave him a fat buyout that makes him hard to fire. that we are ridiculously worse situation now than we were with Miles at the helm pretty much proves that I was right and Alleva has to go first. but it’s too late now. “any idiot can win 10 games here” is what everyone said. well we have an actual certifiable idiot now. and he ain’t winning 10 games.
We can debate all day long about what LSU's record would be right now if Miles were still here. One things pretty certain, we wouldn't have had so many transfers during the summer and our depth wouldn't look as bad. We also lost a few player that went into the draft but could have come back, I'm not talking about all the underclassman but a few that should not have entered the draft. Add to the team two defensive linemen that could have played Saturday night but were held out to rest up for the Florida game, the outcome might have been different. I liked Miles and I'm pissed that he was so damn hard headed to not hire a better offensive coordinator and keep his hands out of the offense. If O doesn't learn from that mistake and let his buddy go and hire a good defensive line coach, we'll continue to slip when it comes to defense.
It looks great in comparison to what Orgeron has done this year... I mean, doesn't that say a ton? From NC contenders to bubble top 25 team is what Miles brought us to; back to the 80s. I don't want to accept that's who we are. Hallman led to Saban, maybe Orgeron leads to our next great period. Miles surely did not. As far as Eaux being qualified; I'd hope someone close to the situation would recognize that. But from the perspective of a common fan, ignoring the bright spots in the decade since he crashed and burned and assuming he hasn't learned is one conclusion, but not the only.
