i remember when sosa started going crazy, i was stunned. who? who is hitting 50 jacks a year? ridiculous. some miserable jackass hitting better than almost every hall of famer ever had? cmon.

sammy sosa, 2001: batting average .326 HR: 64

absurd. what a terrible era for baseball that was.

    1993-33
    1994-25
    1995-36
    1996-40
    1997-36
    1998-66

yeah i know and its weird how he turned around his persona too once he made it to the north siders. he was known as incorrigible with the south siders. not as dramatic as george foreman's but still pretty remarkable how he became lovable slammin sammy.

i remember reading this article written a few years ago and laughing:

Just another pimple on the miserable ass that is major league baseball. Just shut it down already, Bud.

that's a topic for another thread... would college sports exist if pro sports ceased to exist?

dunno but that discussion is irrelevant. almost none of these dudes would be here playing baseball if they didnt think theyd have a shot at the show.

we'd simply be USL with less delusion.

so your hatred for mlb is unfounded. its on public radio and tv less than soccer anyhow.

    just turn the channel, holmes.

Blame Bud Selig and baseball because without sosa, mcgwire, and steroids, baseball would never have gotten over the strike hangover.

I dont care that sosa did roids, everyone did. And i don't think its anyone's business, the fact that the federal government has stepped in and is making medical records public is a travesty. Its a violation of HIPPA laws and its sickening.
