Again yup... which is why they were praising the SEC for the way we do it, and why UT went to the SECCG last season and why UGA had no claims to a NC like Richt was lobbying for.
Wife and I are still together after my Tigers beat her Buckeye's in the BCSCG.......The few weeks leading up to and the few weeks after were touch and go however. :yelwink2: But I see your point about UT/OU. They face that game each year and this will make it harder.
After last season, I thought the BCS could sink no lower. If Texas ends up the season with a head to head win vs the BcS National Champion, it might result in another split title. I could easily see Texas as the #1 ranked team in the AP going into the Bowl games. How can the Big 12 have the BcS as one of their tiebreakers??? There should be a legitimate way to break a 3 way tie other than BcS ranking. How does the SEC do it??
Same way as the 5th tie-breaker in a 3 way tie. Happened in '03 if I remember right. Just looked it up. There is an exception for if top two teams are ranked within 5 spots of each other
The SHAFT job is NOT over. Florida is so far behind OU and Texas in the computers.... The votes would have to put them #1 all across the board.... I'm calling it right here: Florida beats 'Bama, and OU beats Mizzou- #1 OU vs #2 Texas for the BCS National Championship. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Here's a huge question that can completely derail the whole conference championship thing. If Mizzou were to beat OU Saturday, that would likely throw Texas into the BCSCG. It can be said that maybe Texas benefited from not going to the Big 12 CG. Expect a new rule about conference champions to be brought up with the BCS next year. Also, expect the Big 12 to reconsider their current tiebreaker rules.
IF that were to happen (unlikely), Florida will "win" the "AP national championship." They are currently #2 in the AP, and will likely jump to #1 with a win over Bama.
This is what I was proposing. Pick a number (4 or 5) spots within each other in the BCS and then you must use head to head. Great rule/caveat.
