We do use the TE. He's the OL that lines up outside the OT. His primary duty is to block, his secondary duty is also to block. One of Miles ten commandments is the TE shall not catch a ball.
Is it true that LSU TE, DeSean Smith after the ND game was overhead saying, "Coach, I have sinned having caught four passes." and then there was a murmur from the ND sideline which went, "You are forgiven. Go forth and catch no more passes, especially against Notre Dame!"?
They had to take him out of the game when they threw the Hail Mary just in case. He could have caught an Immaculate Reception by mistake.
