Do you mean because the sum of the taxes collected would greatly exceed the deficit and the government would collect a massive surplus?

Why not stop kissing the asses of those 50% that don't pay a damn dime. While the "rick pricks" pay 90% of the bill.

    You talk about fair. ehh

As I understand it, the sum of taxes collected would not be enough to pay off the debt.

That may be true, but it would surely balance the budget. Now if the government just took 100% of GDP, and by some miricle everything was able to function and people were able to eat, we could be out of debt as a nation in about 10 months

Try to pay attention, I've addressed this many times. That figure includes the disabled, the elderly living on social security, students and other part-time workers, and low paid workers, all of whom file taxes but make so little that the standard deduction that you and I and everyone is entitled to covers their entire tax bill.

Thanks to the Bush era tax cuts that 50% now includes middle class couples making $50,000 if they have two kids. They can pay zero taxes based on those deductions. The tax cuts, exemptions, credits, and deductions have become ridiculous and the rich take advantage of most of them to avoid paying taxes.

$5.8 Trillion would pay off a lot of it. And that's just household tax revenues.

Yes. They avoid them so well that they manage to pay a much larger proportion of total taxes than their proportion of total income.

Thanks to Obama era massive spending, no amount of tax hikes will fill the void.

Well of course, when their income is a much larger proportion of total income than their proportion of total income.
