It's a really good class. The obvious problem is only 2 offensive linemen in it, but we've got a strong group in state next year and the fact the entire OL returned and didn't lose a year of eligibility made it much less of a catastrophe than it normally would be. We've got quite a few sharp folks on here who follow recruiting really closely if yall got any questions I bet one of us can answer it. I've always learned a lot on here. (Raesjon Davis actually wanted Pelini retained. Once he was fired he didn't commit. That might be the strangest thing of all about his recruitment.)
T-bob said on his podcast yesterday that Pelini was leaving the building early frequently, playing golf instead of preparing for games, and not holding walk throughs. No wonder we sucked last year. Guess Raesjon didn’t see the problems. Not mad that he isn’t in this class. Honestly, I don’t understand the supposed necessity of a transfer linebacker being that we still have Webb, Sampah, White, Baskerville, Clark, and now Strong. Let the young kids get playing time and build the depth through the next class.
It would be great to, but I think it’s tough to sell a transfer without any playing time. The portal has essentially became a way to find playing time at another school nowadays.
Bama signed 27 players. They have mastered the art of circumventing the rules of recruiting. They also set a 247sports all time record for most points (Just under 328). 2021 - 27 2020 - 25 2019 - 27 2018 - 22 2017 - 29 They have somehow averaged 26 players signed over the past 5 cycles.
The rules changed in 2018, so you can't really look at 2017. I'm pretty sure you can still count back for early enrollees, which is what Alabama is doing, but O seems intent on filling those with transfers, instead.
