This team is in excellent hands with this ball coach. He is an offensive genius the likes I have not seen since Steve Spurrier during the decade of the 90s. Without arguably your best WR (yes I know what Colston has done) in Joe Horn, this team has in place an offense that is virtually unstoppable (Note: The Steelers defense had very little to do with their 6 losses). The Steelers, who were only giving up 290 yards per, and playing at home in front of a potentially raucous crowd, could do very little against an avalalanche of ingenius play calling. 515 yards....and without the leader of your receiving corps. They could put me out there on the field and I think I would have my best day ever. Brees signed to a 6 year contract. Bush signed to a 6 year contract. Colston, Deuce, Horn. The tight end problem will be addressed in the off season. Get a great free safety (Bullocks is obviously our achilles heel) and linebacker that can make big plays and cause turnovers, and we're set. Expect to see Bellamy from here on out in place of Bullocks. Oh yeah, Jahri Evans won't make that mistake again. Believe that.
better believe Terrance Copper is gonna be doing ball catching drills all week and fumble drills too!
I didn't catch whether the booth reviewed the last fumble or not....I know they were tending to the hurt Steeler on the ground...but was it reviewed? If not, then they to do away with the asinine rule that a coach can't challenge in the last 2 minutes of the game. The booth review should only be in place for when a team has no timeouts remaining and their is a controversial play occuring in those last 2 minutes.
It was certainly a fumble, and I did hear during the broadcast the announcers say "the officials have just confirmed that it is a catch and a fumble" at some point while they were tending to the hurt Steeler.
they said that they reviewed it while they were tending to the player. It was really a fumble anyway.
So we basically had 2 guys who may not have even been drafted at the wideout position gain 261 yards between them and against one of the top 8 defenses in the league, on the road. Goodness.
Expect the Saints to bounce back next week. After our two previous losses, the Saints won the next week. Too bad it's not TB for a 3rd time. Colston is not only ROY, but WILL be in Hawaii come Feb. I've said it all year, he's TO without the attitude. Brees to Colston: the next great QB/WR combo. And that running back too....what's his name?
The bottomline is that nobody predicted this team would be as good as it has been this season, nor did they believe we'd have the record that we have. I already consider this season a success, but Payton will not settle for that. We'll bounce back against a Cincy team that has been suspect all season. By the way, Reggie can jump.
All I know is that the Steelers didn't beat us, we beat ourselves. I just hope we make the playoffs in this rebuilding year. Can't wait till next year... So why exactly did Benson stay with Jim Hasless so long?
