I appreciate your opinion, but I quoted Supreme Court Judges opinion/ruling. Feel free to tell me why they are wrong. They quite clearly said all a president must do is say it. That is all the proof need as the act of being sworn in grants him constitutional authority.

not true. there is an open criminal investigation and a search warrant has been executed. The government won't indict until they feel their case is air tight. It appears, and I'm no insider, that this is an active investigation as more witnesses have been subpoenaed in the last few weeks.

How cordial of you! I appreciate it...

Yes they do and it is quite clear that all they must do is say it. If I'm not mistaken you worked in some kind of role with the military that dealt with sensitive documents. So let's say that President NC told his aides, "I am declassifying this document!" All he had to do was say it. But what about everyone else around him? Do they just allow those documents to remain under their current classification or is there a process by which they notify other relevant agencies that the President has declassified this document? What about the other way around? What about when a President says "I am making these documents classified!" Do they just allow those records to remain unclassified throughout the rest of government or do they make them classified? Because the argument you are making is that the President can say "Declassified!" and it somehow automatically happens throughout all of government. So while your argument that the Supreme Court has indeed ruled is correct, it doesn't address what comes after that to ensure information remains secure.

    What comes after is irrelevant.

In the case I linked, the Supreme Court said congress MUST make an EXPLICIT law outlining what the president must do if he must do anything. Otherwise, his "words" are enough.

This is the black hole you are swimming in.

Further, I also linked the Obama EO that gave the president even MORE authority over classified material.

Lastly, today, I also quoted a case from Bill Clinton leaving office in which the Judge said basically the same thing.

that's far from a personal attack so nice try my friend. Do you deny that you are on this forum all the time? I've never been here when you weren't present. I have made no comment about whether that is good or bad. It is your life to live and I'm not knocking it, just pointing out what I observe. If you took that personally then please accept my apology, it wasn't meant as such.

I am a regular member. Sometimes I post a lot sometimes I dont. If you want to look at my airline receipts, truck miles and money I have spent at the track over the last month I can provide that, but to say you weren't being personal is a lie.

You were trying to make fun of me for posting more than you "think" I should. You literally said this is all I have in life. Very judgmental. But like I said, keep working on it. You will get there.

Not disputing anything you've said about the validity of the Presidential powers as it pertains to declassification and classification. My post was clear that your answer does not address what happens next. Are you telling me that the President could classify and/or declassify something and those records wouldn't need to be altered? Especially if we are talking about something as serious as our nuclear program?

Well, I apologized in my previous post if you took that personally. Your awfully sensitive about it so I'll just leave it at that and go back to discussing politics.
