You're supposed to investigate a crime looking for a person Not investigate a person looking for a crime.

I don't care who it is, the most dastardly villain should not have that done.

The reason the subpoena and warrants were executed was because Trump had government documents in his possession without permission. He wouldn’t return them and lied about the content. Whether they were classified, declassified or whatever was not the original point. The fact that documents were removed under the search warrant proves the government’s point.
One of the issues and why the government wanted them back is because they were very sensitive CLASSIFIED OR DECLASSIFIED. Trump had no right to them and had already proven a risk to leak them while in office. There was every reason to want ant then take them back.
The status of their classification matters not in the above points. However that status needs to be determined as well. I expect that to be tried and appealed for some time.
Finally for those who ask what about HRC’s server and emails this article addresses the questions well. https://www.thebulwark.com/but-her-...boutism/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

Dumb bastard. My post pointed out that the classification question is secondary. It doesn’t matter if they were classified or not. THEY WEREN’T HIS. What don’t you understand? It’s pretty simple English and BTW doesn’t need a SCOTUS ruling to figure out.
