They were. Brandon reclassified them the same way Trump supposedly declassified them. Seriously regardless there are two points you either ignore or don’t understand. First data in the documents is still extremely sensitive and shouldn’t be in the hands of someone with no clearance. Secondly the documents are not his. They belong to the government. If the government wants them back he should have returned them. Instead he spent 18 months delaying, lying about them and trying to hide them.

That’s like saying we raised taxes in 2023 so you need to pay more for all the previous years now. Not how it works guy.

Sure, Pedo Joe CAN reclassify them but it doesnt retroactively make anything Trump did illegal.

Also, you do not know how clearance works. When I left the military, my TS clearance was active for X number of years AFTER I left the service. All presidents still receive briefings for a few years after they leave office and still hold clearances.

You should really just not say things without knowing anything about said topic.

I am sorry if you guys don't like the correct answer, but that does not make it less correct. Trump declassified them. If Brandon wants to classify them, it seems reasonable that they be in the possession of the government before classifying them or then Brandon could classify my Computer Science notebook from my days at LSU and they could lock me up. Uh, no. Besides, you don't have any clue what is in those documents so you don't know how "extremely sensitive" they are so stop the hyperbole.

trump didn't declassify them, and the statutes he broke do not depend on classification, anyway.

He said he did and as president, he had that authority. End of story.

Sorry, but he didn't. And his crimes are not dependent on them being classified, anyway. End of story.

If he has committed a crime he would have been charged.

So now you change the accusation? hmmm... Former Presidents have the legal authority to access all documents created under their Presidency regardless of their classification. He declassified the docs and he has access to the docs. All of this has been litigated and decided on in the courts in recent history. This is desperation by the left.
