He reminds of Michael Abernathy just a better blocker.

His build seems perfect, 5-11 and 250lbs. Does anyone know if he is really 250 or close to it? Every time the services round numbers off it makes me a little distrustfull of them. He definately fills a need next year. Going into the year we were talking about the offense possibly going back to a Hester type fullback that was more versatile. However, with our inability to throw the ball consistently, a true bruising blocking FB becomes more of a necessity. If his height and weight are correct he seems more suited to the pure blocking role than the other FB's ranked ahead of him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the #1 FB on our board. I mentioned this before, but I think it is worth mentioning again. When recruiting a true FB almost none play FB in high school. Most are carrying the load as a ball carrier for their team. There just aren't that many great athletes on one team in high school so that you can have another superior RB on the same team 99% of the time. Therefore you have to project how good a lead blocker they will be based on limited reps for the most part.

He reminds me for former Ouachita H.S. and Notre Dame RB/FB, Jamie Spencer.

I have seen every game this kid has played in hs. He is probably more like 260, NO FAT WHATSOEVER, all muscle!!! You guys have landed one heck of a kid. He has been our primary RB until this year. We had a star running back transfer in from another state, so Allen has been used to lead block more this year than the years previous. He still gets between 7-10 carries per game. He and the rb back both average around 9-10 yards per carry. I cant count how many times I have watched him drag 2-3 guys 10+ yards. I could go on and on. I saw where he finally commited to LSU in our local paper, thought I would see what the lsu faithful were saying. cant wait to watch him on Saturdays!

A hearty welcome to the board and thanks for that information.

We are pretty damned excited to get what I think is the best talent at FB ever recruited at the position for LSU.

Glad to also hear he has been playing the FB position this season and getting some valuable experience at being a lead blocker.

I do not believe he will be your standard 1 carry a game type FB that has been employed at LSU all these years. I do believe he can be a dynamic force in the Crowton arsenal and give us yet another option that teams must defense.

How many 4th downs is Miles going to go for the next 4 years? :milesmic:

He has good hands too, will catch any ball thrown his way 9 out of 10 times, very rarely coughs it up (none this year on 80+ carries). Like I said, I cant wait to watch him on Saturdays. He will be in action in Memphis Friday night if any of you are up that way for some odd reason.
