Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton The coaching staff must really be comfortable with our linebacking corps right now, to take Johns and possibly Singelton, without going after other linebackers in this class. I know we have Minter and possibly Mingo, but those 2 are projects. Although I see Minter playing next season. However, they must have high hopes for Baker (which I do as well) and Prater. I just dont see this being the situation, it makes me a little nervous. We need better linebackers. I hope Baker and Prater fill those roles and surprise alot of people.
Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton Well we are still going full steam ahead with Jarvis Jones' recruitment. And it's not crazy to think he might commit to LSU in the end, although we appear to be behind both Florida and Georgia at the moment. But what if Chavis tilts things in LSU's favor? He is coming on his official to LSU on Jan 30th and we have him last. I know the coaches think they have a legit shot at this guy.
Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton :geaux: Is Kellen Theriot still being considered a possibility at LB? I know that was mentioned before. :LSU231:
Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton From what I have heard, he will be playing LB at LSU. We are thin at LB as well and can't afford to lose someone to the offensive side of the ball.
Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton Our coaches have been recruiting and scouting the 2010 class for a good while, and perhaps they have realized that the talent pool for 2010 is going to be pretty slim.
Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton The Louisiana pool of talent won't be as top heavy, that's for sure, although it will be good.
Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton Unless the FB recruit from Tennessee isn't going to be a part of this class I do not understand taking Singleton. I don't see either one of these guys playing anything other than FB. How often has LSU taken 2 FB's in the same year? Not very often.
Re: RB/FB Alex Singleton Singleton is pretty much the exact same size as Charles Scott (6'0, 235). Allen is the built like a Maurice Jones-Drew, but much taller (meaning he is a battering ram). Allen is 5'11" 250 lbs vs. 5'7" 210 lbs for Jones-Drew. Singleton wants to play RB also. I think what LSU likes is the fact they get someone who can play the FB position but also serve as someone on the depth chart at RB just the same. Versatility is always a plus.
