I wonder if this was his plan all along? Since GB wouldn't let him go to any NFC Central team, and even had a trade clause put in his Jets hiring contract. Where the Jets would lose draft picks to GB if they traded him to an NFC Central team. This way: retire, get released after the Jets pick up Sanchez in the draft, free to talk to whoever he wants. Long way to get there, but it worked.
