I love the part about the Jets having to give the Packers 3 first round picks if they turn around and trade Brett to the Vikings. Nice little caveat to the agreement.
I agree. But I don't understand why the Packers think the Jets would be someone's whipping bitch and do that.
I wonder if anyone in the media capital of the world will even notice that this guy is on their team. It's not like he's Brett Favre... oh wait, he really is. I can see it know: "Broadway Brett" "Jet Favre" Newyorkjets.com is reporting that the "interest in No. 4 and the Jets has been off the charts. I know we've been getting 100,000-plus visitors to our site every hour, and that was before the sun came up. " Information Week is reporting that: Brett leaving Green Bay just gives Matt Flynn a better chance of getting playing time. He here he is wearing #10 during training camp on August 5 (Aaron Rodgers is #12).
oh yeah, of course. well it's looking more and more likely Flynn could stick with the team, even if he isn't listed as active for much of the season.
i had read a few reports how flynn took a bit to pick up the style of offense they were running and brohm stepped right in since its the west coast, similar to petrinos in a lot of ways. then after a couple weeks matt had actually looked better and had it all down pat once he was able to adjust. not sure where they stand now. either way, they'll give brohm all the chances as a backup til he fails for now. matt may need a bledsoe type injury to get some pt.
cowherd had an interesting view of the deal. said it was great for the jets regardless of how favre does because they are looking for a new stadium deal, and there is too much competition in nyc for that lately.
Here's the headline photo currently featured on ESPN's NFL page (its the Mayor of New York welcoming Favre): There are a good bit of news outlets that are already calling him "Broadway Brett," for example, the Wall Street Journal had this headline: "Broadway Brett: Favre is headed to the Jets"
