Whoa, this one is so tough. We could easily list about 30 some odd defensive plays. I'm going to go with a top 5 of each unit. I normally would go with the most important plays that affected games, but this time I'm going with sheer greatness of the play. Offense 1. JJ's perfect TD bomb to Randle, knowing he's going to get blasted by the blitzing Auburn LB 2. Lee's pass to OBIII on 3rd and 1 for a TD vs WVU, play call even greater than the execution 3. Hilliard's 12 yard bulldozing run vs Auburn with Copeland leading the way (the Danielson quote "do you want the 280 lb fullback or the other 235 lb fullback?) 4. JJ's jump pass vs Florida 5. Mettenberger's rogue audible naked boot leg for a TD vs Ole Miss from almost 40 yards away (yes it was really a touchdown) Defense 1. Mathieu sack/fumble and return for TD vs Kentucky 2. Mathieu batted pass to himself for interception and near touchdown vs WVU 3. Reid interception vs Alabama (most important play of the season, but the first 2 I listed were more spectacular plays) 4. Brooks' feint of a nickel corner blitz resulting in pick 6 5. Brandon Taylor's burst through the gap to single-handedly drop Richardson on his ass (yes the great unstoppable can't tackle with one player Richardson) Special Teams 1. Wing's fake punt (I still consider it a TD) 2. Mathieu's strip fumble TD vs Oregon 3. Claiborne's Kick Return vs WVU 4. Jarvis Landry's "you just got knocked the phuck out" special teams tackle vs Auburn (the one where he runs off the field) 5. The other special teams "blown up" tackle vs Auburn (pick one)
My favorite play is Claibornes K.O. reurn for a TD against WVU . The look on there faces was priceless .. Defensive play is a tie between Ron Brooks pick 6 against Auburn , because I was at that game , and Honeybadgers strip from the WVU wideout .
<------ is tied with Reid's pick in the Bama game for the defensive play. Offensive Play: I have to go with Chaos' pick. 3rd and 1 play action to ODBJ.
+1 You could hear both of these very clearly from 25 rows up. Landrys hit sounded like a car accident. Truly phenomenal.
