I like history. I like sports. I like the history of sports. Sorry. And actually, the rivalry blogs are by far the most popular things I've posted in recent years.
I put the important information at the top (yeah, I think overall records are important to know about) in journalism style, and if you want the gory details they're there. A lot of the people who find my blogs do google searches like "who won the lsu alabama game in 1962" or something, so sometimes if 1962 happened to have been an interesting year, I'll have mentioned it in the relevant blog. You'd be surprised what people care about. I don't think 1988 is starting that far back for the main part of the narrative. The earthquake game is pretty frequently mentioned. I would have been remiss to skip it.
That's why I put the subtitles, so people can skim to the barn burner game or whatever. Or think, "oh yeah, I remember something about extra points, what happened again?"
i wasnt at that game but i remembered this pic the most when they came back from commercial. because it looked like the fans were on fire. it was so freaky i dont think i can ever forget it.
