I'm not arguing that the offense wasn't terrible; it definitely was, and often made the defense's task much more difficult that it needed to be. What I am arguing is that Chavis' defenses generally have a disproportionately difficult time stopping option teams, and the AU game was a perfect example of that. Auburn set a rushing record against us that day. For a team with historically great running backs, that's saying a lot.

Yeah. I'm sure Cam & Chizik weren't really trying . . . they wanted to make sure we felt good about ourselves, so they just chose to only score 7 more points than us. :thumb:

Yea no love loss concerning Crowton and Oregon fans. You had to have great offensive talent to win with him as OC.

    Saban Fan,

Ever been to the Sahara? That's a lot of SAND!! I was stationed in Libya for a short time just before and after Gaddafi took over sand in everything, sand everywhere. But it was pretty cool for an American in the USAF. Tons of European women down there with guys working out in the desert on oil rigs. And them with money and only us GIs to play with. ;)

Never been to the Middle east. I was USAF, though. Spent my time in Oklahoma and SE Asia (67-71).

USAF 66-70 SSgt involuntary extension for a total of 4 years 26 days. Most of it in Germany, with TDY to Spain and Libya.

Best part was playing bball in the USAF, worked 8 to noon then practiced from 2 to 4 during bball season. Did a little TDY to play exhibitions in Europe. Note: I wasn't that good. We just had some very good talent on the team. One guy ended up playing TE for Okla St. Another had signed in the ABA and another was on contract with St Louis Cards as a pitcher. Me, I just played sm college bball and a little defense.. ;)

I'll definitely take my Europe time over the SE Asia. Glad you made it back in one piece. Whether you were in Vietnam or not.

We won the friggin' national championship in Crowton's first year. When he had a quarterback to work with he did fine. Kragthorpe won't be able to go to the next level either if a quarterback does not emerge. And this year he had better emerge in the first half of game one.
