so what? what does that have to do with when someone is ready and when they are not. If the Packers want to "win now", Farve is their guy. If they want to build for the future, that's cool, I just rather a proven commodity for 2-3 more years than a gamble.
i think this whole national discussion of the favre deal is silly. he is a warrior and doesnt want to quit, or he has known nothing other than fball since he was 8 yrs old and is scared to quit. packers fans need to grow up. favre owes them nothing more than to play when they pay him. and the best players play til they die. they do not quit while they are ahead.
Which brings me to my next point. Why in the hell do they want to build for the future? Are they building so they can get to the same level where they would be this year if Favre comes back? Ive never understand that. It is not as if the Packers are some D-list baseball team with an owner just trying to make a profit while not paying attention or trying to build a contender. The Packers dont need support...why not try to win? He must have banged someones wife.
I agree man. 100%. This is a case of control-freak NFL execs trying to stick it to the player. Mark my words, GB's GM will be fired at the end of next season. It's inevitable, unless they win the Super Bowl.
if the Packers legitimately think they are a title contender, then all they have to do is ask themselves who they would rather have the ball on fourth and 3 with the season on the line in the playoffs. If their answer to that is Rodgers, then they need psychiatric help.
