In the novel Farenheit 451 the government burned books the considered subversive. Farfetched? Now HBO has pulled Gone With The Wind from their rotation. Never mind that Hattie McDaniel was the first black actress to win an Oscar. Now they are talking about canceling the long running hit TV show. What we watch, read listen to or are allowed to post in social media is being controlled. Are we only going to be allowed to be entertained by PC approved bullshit? It sure as hell looks that way. Does the majority of the American people believe in this kind of crap? Somehow I don't think so but the minority of airheads bleat louder than sheep.. Somehow I can see some sort of civil warfare coming to a head. If Sleepy Joe Biden gets elected whatever bitch takes over when he assumes room temperature is going to appoint radical leftists the supreme court. It's a good time to buy more guns while you still can.
I have taught Fahrenheit 451 a number of times. Especially poignant is a monologue far into the novel where a character explains why and how history had been rewritten and how and why books were banned. It all boiled down to eliminating any trace of any intellectual property that could offend even one person. Sound familiar?
