This just goes to show how starved for offense you guys are. You aren't looking at the big picture. You're willing to gamble the future of this program on a guy who runs a gimmick offense, has been a head coach for less than a year, we have no idea if he can recruit, we have no idea what he can do other than be a coordinator and run a spread...puke.

We know Jimbo, we know he can coach, we know he can run an offense, he knows the area, he can recruit, he can win championships, we keep Frank Wilson and O, we start to bring in muscle and meat, and by the time it gets rolling Saban will have a few years left and we kick his ass into retirement early.

    I don't think he is a gimmick.

He runs a gimmick offense though. Meyer, Briles, Malzahn, Kelly, Leach, Kingsbury, Sumlin, Wittingham, Holgerson, all of em run some form of the spread offense. You really want to see LSU running that type of offense? Spread to me is gimmick.

I wouldn't use that as a gauge. I used to work for a guy that was a MENSA society member. While his IQ was extremely high, he was about as smart as a bowl of mashed taters when it came to most things. Just sayin...

You sure about that? He's a smash mouth guy that throws in some spread. Kinda exactly what we've been asking for.

But, is he proven at a high level for a extended period of time (more than 2 years)? Can he do it in the SEC? Can he recruit? Both sides of the ball? To my thinking, Fisher has SEC ties, has proven he can win at a high level at a top program, and can clearly recruit. The comparison isn't even in the same ballpark.
