He's proven he can be a good coordinator, sorry but 1 season as the head coach for Houston doesn't sell me. You know Holgerson was a damn fine OC too, and he has been a middle of the road guy in a real conference, same with Sumlin, and Kingsbury.

But hey lets trade mediocrity for more of it. Why not.

This whole Herman talk proves that LSU fans are so starved for offense that they would settle for the flavor of the week as long as a forward pass can be completed.

Herman fuck no. We need a proven head coach that has proven he can win in the Power Conferences and recruit very well.

I'll support whoever they hire. Houston coach has had one good year as a head coach.

Like has been stated, a coaching search is a gamble. Some guys have obvious talent. Some guys have experience. For the 50th time, what established big time coach does LSU have a realistic shot at it if the long shot Jimbo falls through?

I can't see any reason that Jimbo would be coming to LSU. In fact, I think he would be crazy to do so. His path is much easier where it is, and FSU can pay him plenty of money.

My real preference would be Shaw, but we don't stand a chance in Hell of getting him.

If Herman, he needs to keeps Coach O, consider him for DC or Co-DC and task him with bringing the LSU D back to the LSU D we all love and miss.

That's what we all prefer but if we don't get Fisher who are we gonna get that meets that criteria?

I would agree. He would definitely need some people very experienced with the area around him to help with recruiting. Coach O is a bit nuts, but he can recruit and I like my DC's slightly off anyways.

the 50th time? You have about as much an idea what a realistic shot of anyone is than anyone else on here. We have no idea what is going on right now. It's all speculation. But running the most successful coach out of town to take huge gamble on a dude who has been a head coach for 1 season seems pretty fucking desperate to me.
