If LSU has money for a buyout, they have money to pay top dollar for an elite, established coach. They don't have the luxury of taking "up and coming with potential." Too often "up and coming" turns into "not living up to expectations" and "fired after a few miserable years." The safest move for LSU to avoid any slip and recruiting hit is to hire an established, elite, high-profile, high-integrity name.
I honestly just wish Les would let go of the offense and be a quirky guy who provides great quotes, eats the occasional piece of grass, and keeps recruiting well. He seems like a genuinely good family man who I would like to be able to root for. He just refuses to let go of the O and that will be his undoing.
Down 24-0 and starting to pass the ball does not constitute "letting go of the offense" Just sayin.....
