that is just a silly argument.

Archie Manning never won a playoff game.

    Aaron Brooks did.

    Who do you prefer?

Peyton Manning never won the Superbowl, Tee Martin did. Who would you rather?

It's a crap shoot and Flynn got all the breaks.

His 11-2 is no different and no more impressive than JaMarcus's 11-2.

I have to agree with Clair. It's silly to compare. No doubt JR has more physical talent than either Maulk or Flynn. Mauk and Flynn made their share of mistakes that many people are forgetting because they won the NC. Flyn threw 3 int's against Bama. The defense bailed him out. Mauk has his share of bad games too. JR's mistakes were magnified because he didn't with the ultimate game. We can debate who had the better head for the game, but at this point what good would that do?
I was disappointed in JR during the bowl game interview, but he showed his love for LSU while he was here. He gave his all and that's all you can ask for.

The thing is JR never got to play for the ultimate game. Flynn did with the same record because he got dealt four aces on the last hand of the season when pitt beat wv.

The 06 team was a better team than the 07 team. At the end of that season they were on fire to the point where they were clearly the absolute best team in cfb. They just lost at the wrong time.

You seem to have a selective memory already, so I'm sure YOU will remember only Flynn.

Lee has been a little off this week at practice and I am hearing Hatch is having a better go at it so far.

Looks like Hatch is still on coarse to get 1st crack at it this season.

I'm getting a little nervous about the QB situation. I certainly don't want to have any QB controversy and I don't want to see fans fighting about who needs to play when one of the QB's has an off half or game.

I'm grateful we have 2 guys that seem like they can do well as the starter but I just don't want controversy. If there is controversy this year there will be next year too. Wait a minute, Hatch graduates this year right? Anyway.

I know it hasn't been talked about as a controversy like it was when Flynn and Russell were fighting for the job. I was really happy that we didn't have it last year and Miles never flinched with Flynn.

Since some of you have seend these guys practice do you think we will have any controversy or demands from fans to see what the "other guy" can do. I'm a little nervous about it. I think LSU is in a really unique situation where one of the nations most talented QB's gets dismissed and we may have a QB controversy with backups.

Personally I don't think Les will allow there to be a controversy and am confident that he will handle it well.

JP, man.....when is there NOT controversy? When it was Russell, there was chatter that it should be Flynn. And when it was Flynn, I can't tell you how many times I had to defend him against the pro-Perrilloux crowd on other boards.

Controversy is part of the game. The one thing we can solace in, no matter who is playing, is that if the "number one" guy goes down, there's another "number one" waiting on the sidelines. It's a good problem to have.

PS: Hatch is a Soph., Lee is a redshirt freshman, Jefferson is a true freshman, and Sheppard will be a true frosh next year. I'd hate to break it to you, but we only THINK we've seen controversy!

Wait a minute.....I thought Hatch would be at least a junior. Transferring from Harvard he would've had to wait a season right?

Well there will be a QB controversy for several years now. Hatch v Lee, then Lee v. Jefferson. Oh well, at least we have some talent there and are deep.

Hatch applied for and received a medical reshirt for last year, making this a repeat sophomore year.
