What? Are you implying that anyone who remembers watching Harvey Williams is OLD? :insane:

God knows I qualify for that tag.

For those of you that have seen video of the QB's in practice lately, what are your thoughts? To me the difference in velocity between Hatch and Lee is pretty glaring. Anyone else see this?

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing much more than the small video tidbits on the news...hardly enough to tell the whole story.

    Do you have more?

Judging from the spring game and subsequent highlight vids and the few I've seen on the news of Fall practice, JL has a much prettier throw and much more of an arm. It IS noticeable...but JL was always billed as the pocket passer.

Side note: personally, I think he could be great but he's not ready. He may never get much of a chance with the incoming talent...

i see similarities too, but murphy seems faster in a straight line. it has been many moons since harvey was running, though.

As predicted by many, Peterson is making an early push for playing time in the secondary.

Well, speak for yourself, man! Some of us can remember him and (delusionally?) believe we have a few good years left...

    This is good stuff.

No worries on my end about our secondary this season. This defense will be better than last year's overall.

Taylor will be a better version of Steltz.
Chad Jones will dominate in his multi-dimensional role.
    Harry Coleman will perform admirably.
Patrick Peterson will make the All-Freshman team.
Eugene and Hawkins will do a more than adequate job at DB.

No worries folks. Nothing to see here.

I not only remember Harvey Williams, but I was sitting only a few rows up when he blew out his knee against Tulame in the 'Dome. I was probably 20-22 years old, so if that makes me old now, so be it.

I remember thinking that Harvey shouldn't have even been in the game...we were crushing the Wave. One of many things that could be questioned about that coaching staff.

I smell what you're stepping in, but...and I know they don't have the amount of carries...but our current backs have ZERO career fumbles to my knowledge...'cept Trindon.

    okay. back from media day.

    The team looked great today.

Remember before how I said they were behind last year's team in that they weren't quite as sharp in practice as 2007 was? they were firing on all cylinders today.

OL v. DL had a lot of noses bloodied.

The coaches ran the team very hard and guys were getting stronger the more they ran. It was a hard fought day and if LSU would have played an actual game today, they'd have beaten anyone they'd have played by 14.

I do not know what was done or said and there is no way they can be like this everyday, but they looked good today.

Standouts: Charles Scott is a freak at either RB or FB. He is becoming the leader of the RBs and the leader of the skill position players as a whole.

I was a little hard on him a few days ago, but in pads, it's easy to see how dominant he could be

Jefferson stands out a lot when he is working with the freshmen, because he is the big boy on the block. But in the same playpen as Lee and Hatch today, you could see he is third clearly on the depth chart.

Dickson made a few nice plays at TE

On defense, Charles Alexander looked good. Peterson looks good as mentioned before.

Jacob Cutrera might well be the most valuable player to the whole defense. He probably won't start an entire game, but he will never leave the field, because he is first reserve at every LB position.

I got more junk on the blog and if you got questions, just ask. It is just hard to not be scatterbrained when you do something like this. lol

What happened to Colt David? I don't remember hearing anything about him being hurt.
