It sucks that the Saints have such other glaring needs, for they could have made a deal with some good WR with the cap room available. It is going to be hard for guys like Dev to continue doing so well with teams being focused on them. Or maybe Im just a jealous Dolphins fan that has been in denial about a passing game since Marino retired.
This is the deepest WR draft there has been in a few years, so the Saints should be able to get one impact guy in the first three or four rounds. Of course, there's the occasional diamond in the rough like Colston, but you certainly can't count on that. And the Fins passing game is entirely predicated on Culpepper coming back 100%. They have the tools, they just need a QB to toss the ball. And when healthy, he's among the best tossers around.
Thats how is usually works. I know a guy that played with Sheffield with the Yankees and said Shef agreed to play with them during the summer of the year before when he was with the Braves.
Saw Joe Horn today at West Jeff Medical Center on the westbank. We were going to Lido's Italian, and he was busy checking his email and did not look up before crossing the street. We almost took him out. He was wearing the most distasteful outfit, where the shirt matched the pants. He did have on some fly shoes. That incident could have ruined his day. I would have said career, but his is basically over.
