So the two new tech news of the week is the govt/politicians advocating that Facebook needs to change it's privacy rules and Apple is being looking at for anti-trust because they don't have Flash on the device.

    When does it stop?

If you don't like Facebook's free service. THEN DON'T F'IN USE IT.

If you don't like that Apple doesn't use flash. THEN DON'T F'IN BUY IT.
    Good god.

Facebook should not share your info w/ other sites w/o you giving express permission. It drives me insane when I go to a site (example: lsusports.net) and am already logged in through FB. I can log in myself, thank you very much. I have spent tons of time trying to get this intrusive behavior stopped, but to no avail. FB is a great free service, but it is not right to spread your info to all of these other sites like they do. They call it a feature, I call it intrusive.

That said, if anyone knows specifically how to stop this, please post instructions here!

The problem people have with FB is not that they share your info, but that they make changes to your security settings without notification that allows for this sharing. Considering how many housewives and kids put pictures of their children, themselves, etc. on this website and are careful to only share them with known friends, but FB changes it anyway - it's a legitimate gripe.

i have no idea how anyone could think facebook is worth the hassle and privacy intrusion. just call your friends if you want to communicate with them.

and facebook isnt really free, you pay for it dearly by surrendering all manner of information about yourself.

You made no legitimate gripe. You don't like the service. Don't use it. End of story.

Is reading comprehension like a hobby for you? If so, you might consider changing it.

I never said "I" have a problem with FB, I explained what other people's privacy complaints were based upon, and did so clearly. People get upset because FB changes their privacy rules without informing it's users, and quite often. People have a right to know when terms of service changes. FB has been popped several times for underhanded business practices with it's customers, just like any other business.

I stated so clearly. You are incapable of understanding or are just overwhelmingly in love with your need to bitch about other people.

I can agree that Facebook probably SHOULD advise users when they make changes to privacy settings, but they are under no obligation to, especially since it is a free service. But at the same time, that's the risk you take by putting your personal information on the internet like that. If you don't want your personal info getting out, then don't put it out there in the first place.
