You're right - I thought we'd go 10-2 and we've lost the two I thought we would. BUT: I believe we controlled the first half and I expected to see that continue in the second half. Injuries were a major factor in losing this game. We had them and let it get away. That's what hurts the most. Usually, the breaks even out throughout the course of a game - but in this game we NEVER caught a break, beginning with the bad spot on the first series and continuing to the final play. Some times, that's the way it goes. But it still sucks. :geaux:
No matter what people say, the calls hurt us alot, but the injuries cost us more. Also the clock management of Miles and Lee, hurt us worst, we had no timeouts to figure out what we wanted to do. Im not talking bad about Lee, but he is what he is at this point. The first drive he actually was hitting the guys in the middle of the field, until the false start. After that, they kinda handcuffed him, although the running game was working. But after that his confidence went way down with several bad passes.
:geaux: Speaking of injuries, what happened to Dickson? Heard during the game he was injured but nothing else. I missed the first qtr of todays game so did he get hurt today or what? :LSU231:
Oh yes. Bama really had so many tough penalties go against them. We should just quit our complaining when we think about what they had to overcome.
Maybe, but down by 6 with just over 4 to play, ANYTHING could've happened. Now, we'll never know. You act like it was just some illegal hands to the face call that didn't get called and resulted in a sack. The bad call on the pick was THE play in the game that allowed Ala. to win. Isn't it blatantly obvious by now that SEC officiating doesn't just suck? It's down right corrupt.
You're absolutely right, breaks and calls just didn't go our way. But, it is what it is. At least LSU lost to a ranked team and not Stanford, Navy or Northwestern.
The problem with that logic is, those refs missed calls on both sides. Both offensive lines got away with handfuls of jerseys and other obvious should-be penalties. Bama got away with a hand in a facemask. LSU got away with a downfield block in the back. It was like watching Big 12 officials.
