Dude, you couldn't be more wrong. I'll give you that the defensive line had a let down in the 2nd half. True enough, but did you expect Bama to roll over? When 2 teams are equally matched in talent, a game usually comes down to one or two plays. That was the play that won the game for Bama. Not to mention the multiple other no calls mentioned above. Sh!tty officials and corrupt conference that want's 2 undefeated teams in the championship game cost us this game. That's the way it usually go for us when we play in that state. I take refuge in the fact that FU will beat them in the SECCG and ruin their undefeated season for a 2nd straight year.
Bad angle, the play was directly in front of him. Chipped, he was pushed in the back, causing him to lose his balance. I think he makes that play if he isn't pushed.
I agree with Berge's post. The call didn't beat us. There were questionable calls that went both ways...although I feel we got the short end of the stick, which is expected on the road in the SEC. - Barksdale moved...not sure what kind of TV you have...but he moved early.
True, there are things that the offense could have done, but that's not the point. That is how it's supposed to work. The refs are not supposed to nullify an obvious interception. The acts of the players (good or bad) are what is supposed to decided the game not the refs. The officials should never make calls to change the outcome. It doesn't matter if LSU earlier in the game. The incompetence of the refs lost the game. You should not have to score extra points to over come bad calls.
No doubt the call sucked. No doubt he picked it, and it might have changed things. However, by that time of the game...our offensive hopes were either on the sideline or in the locker room.
Bottomline, we lost a game we should have won. We had em, and we let em get away. Both teams played well, both teams should be proud of their efforts.
I would say all LSU fans send CLM $10 and we will pay for the fine on critisizing the refs. What about the helment hit to the chest on JJ which knocked the wind out of him, numerous face mask, and holding penalties. Also the interception that was missed. I've seen flags all season on the leading with the helment hits. What the #ell happened there refs?? This was just another poor officiated game IMO. Hats off to Bama they played there game the officals didnt!
My thoughts are that games are usually won or loss in the trenches. I don't try and blame refs for the most part. I think the D played great defense for the 1st half but the 2nd half was a total different story. We gave up to many big running plays the second half. Bama was able to run the ball and get their offense going and we weren't able too.
I can bitch about the cramps; I can moan about the play calling; I can gripe about the officiating; I can bitch some more about the D line and Alem not getting off blocks and stopping the run, about injuries, blah, blah. I can find a whole buttload of things about this game to bitch about. But didn't most of us think 9-3 would be about right for this year? Hell, I want LSU to win every damn game they play, but I think most of us, again, realized they really didn't have the parts in place yet. LSU is, in fact, about where most thought they would be.
