My opinion remains the same. Until the scourge of toonces has been chemicaly burned off the face of this earth, no changes are allowed. Fix whats broke before you fix what aint broke.
What was the first year of the current helmet design? When I was a student, late '60's, only numbers were on the sides. Not alot of NCAA teams had helmet logo's then but it began to get popular in the '70's. I remember that at the time I felt LSU didn't put a lot of thought into the helmet change but just went along with the trend and quickly slapped the Tiger and LSU on the side. Since that time it has of course become 'classic'. ldskule:
This is a recurring theme here by new posters. I frankly dont get it, leave the damn uniform alone. Classic: Yankee pin stripes at home Penn State uni's. Golden Domers helmet, Michigan helmet Tiger wearing red on Sunday (while sexting his girlfreinds) These are all traditions and things we can count on.... like our helmets!
There's this store in the River Walk that sells really cool pictures that show the changes in a college teams uniform over the years. I wanted an LSU one but they didn't have any. The guy told me LSU hasn't changed uniforms enough for them to make one. I like it that way.
Only part of our uniforms I want to see more of is purple jerseys more often. Leave the helmet alone.
The store in the Galleria Mall with the sports memorabilia is selling a penant with all the LSU logos since the beginning; I'm thinking of picking one up but I was never really into penants.
worst 496th post ever........:miles: :LSU231: Settle down, it was just an idea and this response is intended to be lighthearted.:geaux:
