Lets let gameplay tell the tale. I, along with most everybody on this board should agree that we should be able to handle Vandy pretty easily. I'm not saying Vandy is a pushover, but I believe we should have quite the advantage tonight even though it is on their own turf. If we come out and struggle to move the ball CONSISTENTLY or make either their QB or RB look like a heisman candidate, I will be very dissappointed to say the least. LSU should DOMINATE Vanderbilt, no questions asked, no excuses needed. If this fails to happen, please help me understand why, because I can't see it...
"Saban was more popular during his career here than Miles is" is exactly what you said. You can't weasel out of it now. You haven't lived, hoss. It doesn't take a lot of debate technique to turn your own statements against you. Fine. I'm trying to get you to understand my point to which you give no validity.
I love the statement made by Miles bashers that "The players win in spite of him". Nice catch-all. Air gives me gas.
My point was that if you were right and all that mattered was W/L, Miles would be more popular than Saban was, which obviously isn't the case. I'm not a master-debater, never took a debate class or anything, but I'm not trying to win the argument here as much as I am just trying to get to the bottom of things. I am biased to my own opinion, but I'm really pretty open minded, I'd say, and can admit when I'm wrong. Your point (at least your last point) was that nothing is more important than winning. I agreed with you to an extent. I'm willing to give on occasion.
Miami won a NC with Coker at the helm in spite of him. The possibility that this applies to Miles is still out there. When I say this I am referring to the first few years. There is no doubt now that all the pros and cons ultimately go back to Miles.
Yeah. Those kids calling the plays in the huddle keep Miles' job for him. And everything they do during the week without him at practice. Seriously, this statement basically says that we don't need a head coach at all.
That deflated Boise's balloon a bit. You know, the result of this game really surprises me. I expect more from a Beamer coached team.
My point is that Miles early success may be attributed more to following Saban than actually coaching at a NC level. I agree with you that all the pros and cons go back to Miles now. When the players make great plays, Miles should be credited with bringing them here and putting them in a position to succeed. When the players bungle things up, Miles should be blamed for not ensuring mental discipline. PS - Anyone else ready for the Vandy game?
hoss, if that ain't enough to keep your head up then you need to find another school or program to support. there simply is no way to meet your expectations.
