As a Tiger Fan my number 1 expectation is to win every game. This team is shaping up to win all 12 games we play. Oh Tigercliff has lost it ! No I am expecting this team to win all 12 games. We have a D that is very young but with great leadership. We have great speacial teams that compare to any unit in the country. We have a varied and experienced
staff headed by a coach that has won the SEC and BCS - NC.

but - there is always a but

Our offense is limited and it's all that most Tiger fans talk about. What does this O really have to do? If I was CLM I think I would be setting up this O just the way he is doing it. He is a little fearful of letting JL on the field because of what JL's major fault is- Turn-overs! Giving up the ball and letting teams have a short field against our D. We want teams to have to move against the D and keep things under control. This goes against what most of my Tigers friends want. If you want a wide open 5 WR set I think you will be complaining all season.

You are seeing lots of JJ run the ball because it is safe. Dumps to RS are safe and we see that lots. Running the ball with #34 will be the base play and next week as we add DP at TE he will be added to the base rotation.
RR and TT will get about 3 to 5 balls a game.

This will be a 280 to 400 yard unit that has no turn overs. We will put up 17 to 30 points a game and win most games. Next year as JJ is a senior I think we will see close to the same thing but maybe a little better model.

CLM will be our coach and we will have a top 5 recruiting class.

    Expectations vs Reality

You can bitch and bitch but bitching will not change what you will see.

Getting closer to reality will allow you to enjoy the process that takes us to each game , one game at a time.

As I read my own post I must add that I said I agree with CLM except on one point. I am sure at this point I would go to a 2 QB system starting against MSU, UWV, Tenn and tell both of them that after these 3 games I will go with one of you.

My reality on this Sunday morning is that CLM is not going to do this. He is going with the above post which means for the remainder of this year and 2011 , JJ will be my LSU QB. I can accept this or be a bitcher. I can support CLM and this team even when I don't agree.

Miles is coaching the way he always has, and is making us play sound, fundamental football. The turnovers masked this against UNC.

Jefferson did what I needed to see him do, play with passion, and manage the game. He plays like he played last night I like our chances in every game. Shepard needs to learn how to catch the football, if he wants to truly be special, hoping that will come with time.

I agree about Shep catching all the balls thrown his way. He is getting many looks but I will give him some slack. To me he seems to be a little up tight. I thought he would be the king of cool but maybe that will change.

I just think he is already thinking about making a play before making the catch. Seems to fear contact a bit, but all should improve over time.

Jefferson doesn't throw many interceptions, for sure . . . on the other hand he doesn't throw many touchdowns either. You can't win championships by playing safe. The 2007 championship was a result of Les taking a lot of chances. And everybody loved it.

Not if it becomes predictable. SEC defenses are sophisticated.

I think you're dreaming, amigo. We have that potential, but we have a major offensive bottleneck, too.

    it all starts with dreams

all NC's don't have to look the same

limited O with great D has won it all many times

Bama Penn St back in the day

but I must agree that since 2000 most teams have had major O !

Looks like 290-340 range total O is about where we are right now:milesmic:

Not being a passing team isn't the end of the world for ultimate success. Not having an offensive identity means a lot more.

The message Miles gave was that he wanted to return to a smash mouth type of offense again. If that had happened, Jefferson and throwing the football wouldn't continue to keep coming up, every other sentence.

Anyone can win championships with a dominate running game. With less turnovers and maintaining vigilance, It still seems that LSU is closer to getting that accomplished then they are of having a feared passing attack.

I think if we can beat you by running the ball and playing great defense, CLM will stay in that direction until someone stops it and forces us to throw more.....
